Digital Camera Packages

Would you mind trying your hands at the digital cameras? Then here it is almost everything you got to know about cameras.

These convert your memories into digital form. Let it be videos, photos or sound, anything can be stored for later use. Share it or keep it for yourself it is not going any where. Digital cameras include video cameras, still cameras and professional modular system of cameras. What matters is the memory when we talk of digital cameras. Cheap ones and the mobile phones rely on onboard memory. But nowadays most digital cameras are available with a removable memory card. These can be secure memory cards, XD picture card or memory stick.

The purpose of all these is easy and huge storage. If you are confused between the resolution and the pixels then keep this thing in mind that a huge amount of pixels does not ensure a better picture. If you plan to share your memories on the web or on blog sites then a lower resolution camera is a better option for you. Talking about the memory cards, it is a belief that huge memory enhances the performance of the camera but many times its vise versa is possible. Two types of batteries are available when digital cameras are concerned. You may select cameras with lithium ion batteries or the standard AA batteries.

The cameras can be connected to the computer by the USB port, or through card readers. Nowadays some cameras like Easy share helps to share items with the computer by Bluetooth. Have you ever heard about disposable cameras? These are also known as single use cameras. They have all common features like the regular cameras. There is one drawback; you can not connect it to your computer. These cameras are cheaper than the regular ones.

Rechargeable Batteries - Best Digital Camera Batteries

I'm not going to insult you by teaching you how to put a battery into a camera. That's something pretty much anyone can do without help. As long as you follow the diagram and put the batteries like it shows there, you'll be OK. What I am going to teach you here is how to boost the battery life, since taking photos can be taxing even on the best digital camera batteries.

Digital Camera

Use rechargeable batteries to save money

When a camera takes AA batteries, there is a good chance it will accept rechargeable batteries as well. You will have to pay more for batteries that are rechargeable, but in time you will save money. If you use regular AA batteries, in a month you can easily go through a megapack of them.

Here are some facts about batteries that are rechargeable:

There are two main types of rechargeable batteries: NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) and NiCad (nickel cadmium). If you want the best possible performance from your batteries, you should go with the NiMH. Still, if you already have NiCad lying around in the house, you can use those as well.

If you want to use it while you're away doing business or in a vacation, you might want to consider a charger for small format batteries . The price of such a charger is around and it comes with a four battery pack to get you started.

Depending on the charger, some batteries will be charged quicker than others. The package of the charger should indicate how fast it works. But, if you want a battery to recharge faster, you will probably pay more for it.

You should buy a second set of rechargeable batteries. Even if one of them is in the charger, the other one can be used.

Even though a rechargeable battery is fully charged, if you leave it for a few weeks it will lose some of its power. In time they will discharge completely.

Even if you plan everything well, eventually you will be in a situation where your battery is dead.

Battery power preservation

The current technology makes sure that cameras deplete batteries slower than before. Still, a digital camera will consume more power than a film camera, because they have a lot of extra features.

All digital cameras show a battery icon on their screen, which tells you that everything is OK when it's full and that you will run out of battery juice when they're almost empty.

The Best Canon Digital SLR Camera

Whatever you do, don't ask a Nikon / Sony / Pentax SLR owner, "Whats the best Canon Digital SLR camera I should buy?". Camera enthusiasts tend to be incredibly brand loyal, and will argue endlessly over why their particular brand is the best of all time . . . and will always be . . . forever and forever amen! Someone who owns several brand name cameras, and therefore owes his / her allegiance to no one brand would probably be a better person to ask. Well . . . since you did ask, let's have a look shall we.

For first time SLR owners, Canon makes one of the best selling and most critically reviewed entry level SLR cameras ever. I would of course be referring to the Canon Digital Rebel XTi digital SLR camera (~0). Its predecessor being the Canon Digital Rebel XT (still available ~0), and it's successor (recently announced but not yet available), the Canon Digital Rebel XSi (~0?). If you've never owned a SLR camera before, and are a little nervous about taking the plunge, you really can't go wrong with any model from the Canon Rebel lineup. Your final choice of these three cameras will really come down to a compromise between price and newer technology. They're all capable of taking great pictures, and every experienced photographer will tell you, the most important feature in any camera, is the ability of the person with his finger on the shutter button.

For anyone with a somewhat larger budget, the Canon EOS 30D, or the Canon EOS 40D both make excellent choices. Better kit lenses, less image noise, and a nicer LCD are just of the few features you'll find. There are more manual controls to tweak, so a steeper learning curve is to be expected. More controls are nice however, as the potential for artistic expression is greatly increased. The 30D and the 40D are both around the 00 to 00 dollar mark, so due diligence is a prime consideration in your shopping process here. In other words make sure you know the differences.

If the phrase full frame technology means anything to you, your probably already salivating over the Canon EOS 5D for about 00 (without the lens kit). Full frame, means that you have an image sensor (CCD), that corresponds with the old 35mm film SLR cameras. To some, full frame is the holy grail of digital photography. Initially this technology was only available for 2 or 3 times the 00 current price of the 5D.

The Ultimate Lomo Effect Photoshop Tutorial - Creating Lomography from Digital Photography

The Ultimate Lomo Effect Photoshop Tutorial - Creating Lomography from Digital Photography Tube. Duration : 12.73 Mins. Lomo Photography or Lomography has gained quite the cult following in recent years. And it's no wonder. These little Lo-Fi cameras, such as the Lomo LC-A, produce some really cool and compelling images. Aside from the Lo-Fi look of the Lomo, the other main feature of Lomography is the cross processing of the Color Slide Film. A while back, I was trying to recreate this look on my digital photographs. However, the few tutorials I found online, while they were a start, didn't really get me to the final Lomo look that I was trying to achieve. So, I made my own process, and now I have turned it into a full in depth tutorial for all of our SLR Lounge peeps. We have broken this tutorial into two distinct parts. In Part I, we are going to take a look at Lomo Photography and dissect the images effects so that we know exactly how to reproduce them in Photoshop. In Part II, we are going to start Photoshopping our image from start to finish. So, if you want to get straight to the Photoshop part of this tutorial, skip to the second video. In Part I, we identified the steps we need to turn our digital images into great looking Lomo style images. Specifically, those steps are: Distinct Features of a Lomo Photograph 1) Cross Processed Colors 2) Increased Saturation 3) Blown Highlights/Clipped Shadows 4) Heavy Vignetting 5) Film Grain 6) Sharp Center/Blurred Edges So, let's get on to the good stuff and actually create our Lomo image in the Photoshop video tutorial below.

The Best Digital Camera For Under $200

Who has the time to shift through reams of product reviews, or spend a half a day driving around malls talking with salespeople? Half the time, you don't know what or who to believe, and all the tech talk seems to turn a simple purchase into a major event. If your looking to get the best digital camera available for under 0, you've come to the right place. There are a couple of good cameras (3 at most) to consider in this category. The remaining 90% of models in this category can be safely ignored.

Digital Camera

Over last Christmas, I had to make the same type of purchase. I didn't have a lot of time, and the wife thought a digital camera for her parents would be a great idea. As much as I'm a lover of technology, I wasn't convinced this was a good idea. They've never owned a digital camera before, and don't even have a computer. Not exactly the early adopter type. I looked around a bit, and was pleasantly surprised, and lucky to actually find a help salesperson at my local big box electronics store.

They right away recommended the Canon PowerShot A570IS. The IS stands for image stabilization. "Perfect" I thought for newbie digital camera types. At the time it was priced around 0, but I've since seen it online for around 0. I like Canon cameras, and have owned several over the years. They generally take great pictures, are very reliable, and intuitive to use. It's been a perfect choice for them.

If your looking for something a little smaller in size the Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph would be an excellent choice as well. I've recently seen it priced for about 0, and again you get the reliable Canon name. Image quality will pale somewhat compared to the A570IS, but miniaturization does come at a price.

Chicken Powered Steadicam - Smarter Every Day

Chicken Powered Steadicam - Smarter Every Day Video Clips. Duration : 4.02 Mins. Click to share via Facebook!---- ----- I waited a couple of years for someone to make this video, so I finally decided to do it myself. I shot the video about three months ago and just now edited it down. The micro camera website mentioned above has lots of examples of what this camera is an how to operate it. You'd be pretty amazed how many uses there are for one. I hope you enjoy! If you enjoy my stuff, I would appreciate it if you subscribe! I've also posted another video which investigates the "Backdriven reflex" in more depth. It can be viewed here: People are often worried about how tight the binder was on the chicken's head. You'll note I said "without hurting the chicken". I stretched the binder out so it had a very light clamping force. Also, this video inspired another user, Jeremiahjw to create his own chicken powered steadicam. His video can be seen here: Pennywhistle Productions.

Digital Camera Battery Problems

The biggest complaint for digital camera battery problems is that the batteries do not last long. It is true that alkaline batteries will wear down faster than the rechargeable batteries. You can easily drain the alkaline battery when taking sixty to one hundred pictures on any digital camera, but the rechargeable batteries can last for two hundred to five hundred pictures. Users do have a problem when it comes to the batteries. Some digital cameras take four AA batteries and last a very short time. This can run into some costly pictures if you use your camera all the time.

Digital Camera

The digital camera battery problems do not stem from the batteries as much as it does from the draw of the cameras on the batteries. If you choose to use rechargeable batteries, you do need to allow the batteries to go completely dead before charging. This can be a huge inconvenience for most people. Therefore, you will need spare charged batteries to carry with you wherever you go. It is always wise to carry the charger with you as well. The life of the rechargeable battery will depend on whether you drain it regularly and charge it when you need it.

Digital camera battery problems are quite common with digital cameras. There is no way around the batteries so the user must decide on rechargeable or alkaline batteries. The best battery will be the rechargeable batteries by far. You can plan to replace the rechargeable batteries about every year or year and a half depending how much you use them and how you charge them. If you plan to use alkaline batteries, you are going to need a pack of batteries every month or so depending on how much you use the camera. Other than that, there are no other real problems with the batteries for digital cameras.

Olympus Digital Cameras - From Microscopes To Cameras And Video Recorders

In 1919, Olympus was known for its advanced technology that went from its first microscope, the Asahi, to the cameras, digital players, and voice recorders of today.

Founded originally under the name of TakachihoSeisakusho, the name Olympus has now also become synonymous with top of the line voice recorders and accessories for the consummate businessman and attentive student.

Now, Olympus has combined this flare for voice recording electronics with the consumer's need for digital music players, with their line of digital voice recorders with music players

With the highest consumer vote of extreme popularity of all the Olympus lines of digital player/voice recorders, the Olympus WS-300M weighs in at only 1.6 ounces with LCD audio system built-in display. Its price ranges from 2.79 up to 9.99, with several online stores offering free shipping - such as or Beach Camera.

A compact brush silver device, it is equipped with 256MB of internal memory, for up to 68 hours of recording time and stores up to 120 music tracks. It can plug directly into any PC or Mac, and then uploads or downloads files as chosen. The big seller for it is no cables, docking station, and no special software.

It is simply a mass storage device for music, dictation, images and data digital data files. No driver installation is necessary and its USB direct. The WS-300M is a high quality WMA/MP3 music playback function with WOW/SRS effect. It has a backlit, full dot, LCD display - with four recording modes (SHQ/HQ/SP/LP) and five folders for file management.

The second highest popular digital player and voice recorder that was chosen by the mainstream is the Olympus WS-320M. Basically the same as the WS-300M, it has the ability to store and play up to 266 songs, with the track and artist name on the LCD display. There is an average 277 hours of recording time, with a direct USB port link to upload or download immediately, and a built-in stereo microphone.

The real big difference between the two is the price: as stated above, the 300M has a price tag of 2.79-9.99, while the price tag of the 320M has a price tag of 9.99-9.99. There also seemed to be more merchants carrying the 300M (16) than the 320M (3) in the online stores.

The installed memory of the Olympus WS-300M is 256MB while the memory of the 320M is 1 GB. Both audio formats were WMA andMP3, with a USB interface, headphones, and microphone. Both had PC and Mac system compatibility. Neck straps are available on both devices, with a silver color on the 300M and black on the 320M. The power source for both is AAA type batteries, weighing .1 lbs, with dimensions of 3.7" x 1.5" x .4" for similar dimensions.

Olympus presents its WS-300M, WS-310M, and WS-320M for consumers needing more recording time with an easier transfer process. The WS-300M gives 68 hours of recording time and the ability to download approximately 66 songs, the WS-310M provides 138 hours of recording time and 132 songs, and the WS-320M is capable of recording 277 hours of audio while holding 266 songs.

Olympus E-PL2 Digital SLR Camera: A Top Choice for a Beginner Camera

The Olympus E-PL2 Digital SLR Camera is rated one of 2012's best entry-level cameras. It boasts the same size sensor as its predecessors; however, the body is much smaller, making it easier to carry and handle. Enhanced Live Guide controls allow you to see the way a picture will look before you actually press the shutter button. Live view has enabled Olympus to omit the reflex mirror and optical viewfinder arrangement of a traditional SLR and produce significantly smaller cameras and lenses. Panasonic has created cameras with this same lens set-up, and Canon and Nikon are expected to begin production soon. Olympus has more quality lenses and accessories available for their cameras than any other manufacturer. You'll have a great time sifting through all of the accessories available for this camera!

There is now a new device, released by Olympus for photo sharing called the PENPal. The device plugs into the accessory port and is Bluetooth-enabled. The E-PL2 boasts an HDMI port that enables direct connection to an HDTV or other HDMI-compatible device. You can view images and movies on any connected device. You can run a slideshow using the soundtracks included in the E-PL2, to accompany the pictures. The presentation can be made to look incredible and professional. the E-PL2 offers ESP light metering which uses information from 324 zones, other lighting includes center weighted, spot, highlight and shadow metering. Images may be captured as raw or JPEG files, or both. There are also 22 scene modes and six art filters: Pop Art, Soft Focus, Grainy Film, Pin Hole, Diorama and Dramatic Tone.

The most popular kit lens is the Micro Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II MSC. It is a little longer than the original Micro Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 when collapsed; however, this new lens is a little lighter and shorter when fully extended. The new optic lens is compatible for Movies and Stills making the auto focusing quieter and faster.

The Olympus E-PL2 Digital SLR Camera is perfect for beginner and intermediate photographers, and will give you images that rival the much more expensive cameras. The scene modes and art filters make it tons of fun to create expressive, personalized, images and movies.

This is one of the advanced lessons from my new Canon 7D Crash Course. Sometimes I get asked if my DVDs will help experienced users because my DVDs say "Made for Beginners". The answer is "Absolutely Yes". My DVDs are Beginner Friendly, meaning, I assume you know nothing about your camera, but by the end of the video, we will cover so many techniques, settings and tips, that unless you are an expert photographer who has been using your camera for 1-2 years, there is going to be a TON of awesome info to help you learn your camera better. This video covers the Internal Flash Transmitter on the 7D and focuses more on teaching users how to "read' and use the menu, instead of just telling you some settings. Over the long run, this will have the greatest benefit. Enjoy!

Cheap Digital Cameras Online

Our love of digital cameras seems to be because the results are instant as film is no longer required to be processed. With numerous functions they do not need the complicated mechanical components of a standard film camera. The images are stored in a format that can be read by most modern printers, computers and even mobile phones for example. A series of ones and zeros is how all digital information is stored although the images are no different when viewed.

Digital Camera

These cameras still use lenses in much the same way that conventional cameras do. Using an electronic system, a lower specification digital camera does away with film although it is still capturing the light as with a traditional camera. Up market versions us a different system again with a charged couple device, or CCD, being the capture system which transfers the light into an electrical signal. Images captured in what are considered to be the low-end cameras are using a CMOS device which competes directly with the CCD of the high-end variants.

The price has been depreciating recently and one of the main reasons for this is the introduction of CMOS image sensors; because CMOS sensors are less expensive and are easier to manufacture than CCD sensors. It would take an experienced digital camera enthusiast to see the difference between an images captured with a CMOS against the superior CCD system. There is no need to feel confused by the range and functions these cameras have if you are armed with a few basic facts which are provided in this article. From the point of view on having good quality photos, search for a high megapixel version as it will be worth it for the image you will capture with it; you may find a model that is being superseded shortly - available at a discount.

Unless your budget just won't stretch that far, don't buy a digital camera with only a digital zoom or you will find pictures that aren't very clear when you print them; it is much easier to take exactly the image you want with an optical zoom. Rechargeable batteries can be charged up to a thousand times and save money, do you need any other advice for why they are best? Most models come equipped with some sophisticated software that can create interesting shots; just like some of these here:

Picture frame effects
B/W image conversion
Image editing

If you're a photo freak, be sure that you have enough memory to take plenty of shots without worrying about storage. Digital storage has come down in price so buying gigabyte card will no longer require a loan but you shouldn't think of having anything less than this.

Unless you intend to use your camera for serious photography there isn't any need for a bulky very high specification version. Professional photographers may need heavy, bulky equipment but there is no requirement for a keen amateur to do so! I hope these few tips will help you choose a camera you enjoy using for a long time. The future of photography has moved on and digital cameras are that future with almost everyone carrying around one type or another every day!

Advances in Digital Camera Technology

Digital Photography has been around for a good few years now and the days of film cameras must surely be numbered. Of course there will always be those who do not want to embrace the 'new' thing, but for most 'digital photography' is the only way forward. There is a continual advancing of technology in the digital camera field and I have noted a few of the newer concepts below.

Digital Camera

Megapixel count

Not too long ago (a few years) my 1.3mp digital camera seemed to do the trick and took some good photographs which I could print out on A4 paper. As time went by the amount of megapixels on cameras started to rise and 5mp was considered really good. The camera I use now has 6mp and does a great job. However, the megapixel count used in dslr cameras continues to grow and the standard amount has now gone past 10mp to 12mp and some have 15mp or even 20mp!! When will it end, or will it??

It is said that you should buy a camera that has at least 6mp and I think that if you can afford one that has 10-12mp you have the capability to take really great photos which can be enlarged quite substantially without any loss of quality.

Camera shake reduction

This is a fairly recent addition to digital cameras and works really well when you find that hand movements start to cause camera shake as you go to take a picture. There are 2 main methods of providing the shake reduction. One is to have the mechanism in the lens being used, and the other to have it in the camera body itself. If using a camera body which has the shake reduction  incorporated within then that means that it can be used with any lens whereas if using stabilised lenses each lens used on the camera would need to have it.

Sensor self-cleaning

The heart of the digital camera is the sensor and eventually some dust will find its way onto it. There are many solutions given for this for cameras which have no self cleaning mechanism.

Microscopic dust particles can get on your digital SLR sensor when you remove the camera lens. This dust shows up in every photo that you take. Self-cleaning sensors vibrate to prevent and eliminate  digital SLR sensor dust. This self cleaning was added a few years ago and does away with the need to remove lenses and get cleaning materials etc. to remove the dust which can be very awkward for the aspiring photographer.

Live View

This is where you can get a view of the intended photograph on the large LCD window on the back of the camera in contrast to being able to look through the viewfinder.

For many years the function of live view was the feature of all compact digital cameras. There was no popular SLR with this function. That has now changed and a few of the main manufacturers are introducing it to their SLR ranges.

JPEG & RAW capability

JPEG  is probably the most popular type of image used on digital cameras now. One of the drawbacks is that it is a lousy image which means that you get degradation of the photo the more cropping and resizing is done on it. RAW on the other hand is the digital equivalent of the old 'negative' and allows far more scope for adjustment on the photograph. RAW files are big and can take up a fair amount of room, so large storage mediums are essential. One good thing that a few of the better digital SLR's have is the ability to take a RAW and JPEG file of each photo you take. This gives you the option of keeping the JPEG as is or doing some work on the RAW image as required.

These are some of the more recent innovations to DSLR cameras. There undoubtedly will be more and it will be interesting to see the next few advances in the technology in the foreseeable future.

GE Digital Camera Reviews, Rants & Raves

Before buying any GE camera, you should look at the GE digital camera reviews. The reviews look impressive when the cameras first comes out, but after they are bought and used is when you will have a better idea about how the camera compares to other cameras and what the camera can do. The cheapest camera you will find from GE is the A730 for under one hundred dollars. This camera does not have a favorable review from users who thought the 7 megapixel, three times optical zoom would be a great camera for the price. The picture image is not always clear.

The GE digital camera reviews for the GE E1040 are somewhat favorable for a camera just under two hundred dollars. This camera is still to new for user reviews, but it does have 10 megapixels with four times optical zoom. The E1030 is about twenty dollars cheaper than the E1040 and has 10 megapixels with three times optical zoom. The GE E850 has 8 megapixels with five times optical zoom. It seems if you want more zoom, this camera is the one you would want, except the megapixels are lower. The reviews are very useful for deciding on which camera to buy.

The GE digital camera reviews are designed to give the consumer more information about the camera, but some reviews are not favorable for all cameras. You need to read the reviews and decide if the problems with the camera are user error or manufacturer flaws. You can use the reviews to choose between different makes and models. You are able to compare, features, functions, options and accessories for the price of the camera. Reviews are helpful for anyone who needs a good digital camera. You just have to read between the lines before selecting the right camera.

16x9 Cinema Presents: DIY Kit for HDSLR Slider

16x9 Cinema Presents: DIY Kit for HDSLR Slider Tube. Duration : 3.28 Mins.

There are several good quality sliders available for the Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 7D and other HDLSR cameras as well as traditional video cameras. However, for the videographer on a budget, these commercial sliders are expensive. So a DIY slider may be just the ticket for getting those great dolly shots for less than a 0. This video (shot with an iPhone 4 by the way) shows me unboxing a set of slider kits from They provide a variety of widths and lengths for rails and matching cradles. In order to use them with your camera, you will have to do a bit of work (hence the DIY moniker). You need to set a mounting screw in the carrier for a camera head and also set a screw for mounting to tripod. Your local machine shop should be able to help you do that. In a future video I'll show how this can be done inexpensively. My initial impression of the rails and carriages from Igus is one of quality. The rails are sturdy. The carriage slides smoothly along the rails, and the slider is relatively quiet (you can hear a bit of the slider noise in this video as I move the carriage back and forth). I can't wait to finish the product out to use with my cameras. Stay tuned to for more information, By the way, be sure to check out my podcast: Digital Convergence. We talk all things video and photography including a good deal of conversation about the HDSLR cameras. You can find the podcast here:

Casio Digital Cameras Problems

There are a few Casio digital cameras problems such as the menu options on some of the models. If you are not familiar with digital cameras, you will want to keep the manual handy until you learn everything about the camera. Some of the cameras have memory management problems that are usually find except that the user has problems with the options. The older QV Casio digital cameras had imagining problems. The pictures seemed fuzzy so you were never sure, if you had a good picture or not until you loaded on the computer. Casio cameras today, have clear LCD monitors that make it easy to see the entire picture without distortion.

Some other Casio digital cameras problems are the images out of focus. There are many reasons why this happens, but it more often a user problem than it is a camera problem. Sometimes the user does not realize the lens is dirty or the assist light does not reach the subject because it is to far away. The distance from the camera to the object is crucial to have properly focused images. Once the proper distance is used, the focusing problem disappears. The technology on these cameras is very precise and does not have too many problems.

Casio digital cameras problems are rare. Some users reported that the pictures are overexposed. This does not come from the camera but from unseen particles in the air that reflect the flash. Many problems with digital cameras are because of some other cause rather than a problem with the camera. If the picture image is poor, users should check the manual to see possible reasons and solutions before contacting a repair service. Sometimes the solution is as easy as moving yourself or the object to a different area to avoid possible image distortion.

Waterproof Digital Camera Reviews - Which Is the Best Tough Digital Camera?

Today's digital waterproof camera models are not only able to withstand getting wet, but many also have true tough digital camera attributes including the ability to cope with freezing temperatures as well as knocks and drops for example. Read further for waterproof digital camera reviews of what is considered by many to be the best of the bunch.

So which one is the best? Each year, manufacturers bring out new and improved features. One thing is sure though, the quality of pictures and wealth of features offered by these digital waterproof camera models are as good as many of the non tough digital camera equivalents.
